On Saturday July 5, Cody Unser, of the legendary Unser racing team family, showed disabled veterans that scuba diving is accessible for people of all abilities, during her visit to the Mile HIGH City for the National Veterans Wheelchair games. Unser, paralyzed due to Transverse Myelitis, has been an honorary member of the Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA) since 2008. Cody and eight disabled veterans, joined the team of A-1 Scuba and Travel Center to dive in the Downtown Aquarium. One veteran commented, “I became a diver after my injury because I knew it would provide an incredible amount of freedom and enjoyment. Your program is by far the best of the best!”
