If you’re looking for a “taste” of diving programs that help you determine the best choices for you, then you’ll find our SSI Advanced Open Water Diver Course is a perfect fit!

You’ll have the opportunity to sample Deep Diving, Navigation Diving, and 3 more popular specialty areas. All while under the direct guidance of an A-1 instructor. It’s a great way to experience what advanced diver training is all about and the value it will have on your future diving adventures. Each of the (5) dives count toward the first training dive of the associated specialty.

SSI Advanced Open Water Diver Course

CLASSROOM LEARNING SESSION

  • During the classroom session, your instructor will collect the required paperwork (see prerequisites) discuss the exercises and you’ll be performing in the pool and during the open water dives, overview equipment recommendation, and provide various hints, tips, and suggestions on how to optimize your in-water experiences.

POOL DIVE

  • During the (1) pool dive, you’ll practice skills specific to those you’ll perform during the open water dives.

OPEN WATER DIVES

  • The (3) open water dives/scenarios will be completed on the same day.  They will be completed at the Denver Downtown Aquarium.  This saves the time and expense of driving long distances and staying out of town.

  • Have a personal MySSI account. To Create your own personal MySSI account HERE or download the (free) MySSI app to your mobile device from the Apple or Android app store
  • Minimum age – 12 years old. Note:  students younger than 15 years old will be certified as a junior Advanced Open Water Diver
  • Be certified Open Water Diver from a recognized Training Organization

Be sure to download, print, complete all required areas on each form (name, date, initials, etc.) and hand the completed documents to the instructor, when you arrive for your class.

VERY IMPORTANT:
UNFORTUNATELY, THE PARTICIPANT WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ENTER THE WATER UNTIL THE PROPER DOCUMENTS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED, SIGNED, AND REVIEWED FOR ACCURACY BY YOUR INSTRUCTOR.

Includes:

  • SSI digital e-Kit Advanced manual. This is updated for life, at no additional fee
  • (1) classroom and pool session
  • (1) deep dive
  • (1) navigation dive
  • (3) elective dives. The chosen location of the open water dives will determine which (3) dives will be completed
  • SSI Advanced Open Water digital manual
  • Use of tanks and weights for pool and open water dives

Not Included:

  • Snorkeling equipment
  • Lodging, transportation, meals, site entry fees, parking
  • Required equipment

  • Mask, snorkel, fins
  • Required specialty equipment to complete the skills. Examples include: slate, dive lights, compass, delayed surface marker, buoy, computer, etc.
  • BCD, regulator, gauges, exposure suit. These items can be rented. Contact the dive store for rental prices and reservations

  • Payment in full was required to reserve a space in the class.
  • The course fee includes the A-1 Professional Instructor, SSI Advanced online e-Kit manual, Knowledge Development Session, and Pool Dive. Once the digital kit is opened, there is no refund for the e-Kit.
  • If the digital e-Kit manual hasn’t been opened there is a $35 administrative refund fee.
  • FEES FOR MISSED POOL SESSIONS AND OPEN WATER DIVES
    • Completing a make-up pool session require us to hire professional staff and schedule space available time in the pool to makeup the session
    • Missed Open Water Dives require full payment to enroll in another Advanced Course
    • Should you cancel or transfer FOR ANY REASON 48 hours or less before the starting date of the course, all fees will be forfeited

Please note:  We strive to help each customer achieve their goal to become an Advanced Open Water Diver.  However, based on a variety of individual factors, we cannot guarantee everyone will be able to complete the Advanced Open Water Course on their first try.  We are always happy to create a customized plan for private lessons in such cases.  There is a fee for this service.
