Try Scuba Diving

Imagine the thrill of exploring underwater worlds-this experience is perfect for adventure seekers and beginners alike.

Maybe you watched a great movie with scuba divers playing with dolphins, or one of your friends just returned from a fun dive trip to the “Islands,” or maybe you’ve always dreamed of diving on a WWII wreck. Whatever your reason, we’ll have you blowing bubbles underwater in no time.

Our Try Scuba experience is an exciting way to experience what it’s like to be weightless and breathe underwater. We have two different Try Scuba programs to choose from. One at A-1 Scuba & Travel Aquatics Center and another at the Downtown Aquarium!

Scuba Divers beckoning you into the water

Your dive professional will help you get outfitted in your total diving system and then conduct a safety briefing. Afterward, you’ll discover how simple and enjoyable it is to breathe and swim effortlessly underwater.

Prerequisites

  • Be at least 10 years old
  • Complete the required Smartwaiver here

One of the required documents contained in this waiver is the Diver Medical Participant Questionnaire. If you answer “Yes” to any health-related questions, you’ll be required to download a supplemental three-page form for your medical provider to sign. All three pages must be uploaded to your account before the first class. We cannot accept forms with added comments or stipulations.

AQUARIUM ONLY – IN ADDITION TO THE DOCUMENTS ABOVE

Unfortunately, the participant will not be able to enter the water, for either program, until the proper documents have been completed, signed, and reviewed for accuracy by your instructor.

Includes

  • Scuba diving in our on-site heated pool
  • Use of all diving equipment
  • The session is approximately one hour

Not Included

  • Swimsuit, towel, and personal hygiene items

Please note: This is not a certification course. Additional training is required to become a certified diver.

  • Same-day entry pass to the Aquarium
  • The session is approximately 2 hours

Not Included

  • Swimsuit, towel, and personal hygiene items
  • Please bring shoes (Keens, flip-flops) to wear on the wet deck. Bare feet are not allowed

Please note: This experience is a fun introduction and not a certification course. If you’re interested in becoming a certified diver, additional training will be required after this session. Knowing this helps set clear expectations and encourages future engagement.

Payment in full was required to reserve a space in the class.

  • Should you transfer or cancel less than seven days but more than 48 hours before the starting date of the class, there will be a 50% transfer/cancellation fee.
  • Should you cancel or transfer, for any reason, less than 48 hours before the starting date of the course, all fees will be forfeited.
