Customer comments...

I have now taken scuba classes with three different dive shops... the ones I took with A-1 were by far the best! Sure, the classes were fun, but most importantly, I actually learned a lot.

Your classes really helped making me a much more confident and independent diver. So, thank you A-1, and special thanks to your outstanding instructors, Louise (rescue) and Carol and Joanne (adventure last year).

Cheers, Ulli

Learn To Scuba Dive

PADI course

A1 courses - GET CERTIFIED WITH A-1 SCUBA

Getting Certified is as easy as One, Two, Three!

If you’ve always wanted to learn how to scuba dive, discover new adventures or simply see the wondrous world beneath the waves, this is where it starts.

Our award winning PADI Certification course has introduced thousands of people to the adventurous diving lifestyle. For many it has “changed their lives forever!”

What You’ll Learn

You can choose to become either a PADI Scuba Diver or PADI Open Diver. Each consists of three important steps. Read on to learn more about these two great programs.

Step One
Knowledge Development

The Knowledge Development portion of the course develops your familiarity with basic principles and procedures such as; how pressure affects your body, how to choose the right gear and what to consider when planning dives. This involves independent study using either PADI eLearning or PADI home-study materials

Step Two
Confined Water Pool Dives

and Classroom Sessions

This is what it's all about – diving. During this portion, you'll develop basic scuba skills in our onsite indoor swimming pool. You'll learn how to set up your diving gear, clear your mask of water, hover and several other important skills. You'll also do somersaults, handstands, fly underwater, make new friends, have fun and experience the freedom of “inner-space!” The skills learned in the pool will prepare you to dive in a variety of open water environments, including diving at the Denver Downtown Aquarium. In addition, you’ll spend a short amount of time in the classroom, with your fellow divers, learning about diving equipment, additional diving opportunities and more.

Step Three
Open Water Dives –
here we come!

Here is your chance to show off! And imagine this; you can complete your first two Open Water training dives at the Denver Downtown Aquarium!

Considered “one of the coolest diving locations in the country” you’ll experience what it’s like to dive with incredible critters, in unlimited visibility, learn the importance of conservation, perfect your diving skills and so much more.

Because your pool skills have been mastered and the academic material is fresh in your mind, we highly recommend you begin your open water training dives soon after completing your final pool session. We have several options from which to choose.
