SPECIAL PRESENTATION

Please join us for a special presentation by Coral Restoration Expert Shari Regenbogen Ross on Dec 10th at 1 pm for an interesting outlook on our many uses of water including gardens, homes, farms, pools, and businesses and its eventual pathway to the ocean. She’ll describe some of the perils our ecosystem is experiencing and share ways in which you can help preserve this valuable resource. During this 30-40 minute presentation Shari will help you better understand and appreciate the value of coral, explain why it’s important, and provide suggestions on what we can do to make a positive impact, including getting coral restoration certification.

Our new SSI Explorer Program offers numerous aquatic/diving activities for children six years and up. New Explorers begin their Explorer recognitions by completing the Blue Ocean Explorer and Snorkel Explorer programs in our onsite pool. It gets even better! After completing the Blue Ocean and Snorkeling Explorer ratings, they will have the opportunity to see and experience firsthand the many cool critters during a snorkeling adventure at the Denver Downtown Aquarium. When finished, they will have earned their Ray and Fish Identification Explorer specialties and become SPECIALTY EXPLORER!

BUT WAIT! One adult family member can join their Explorer IN THE WATER during the Aquarium Snorkeling Experience. There is a separate fee for the AQ Explorer and adult.

Our Aquarium Ecology Specialty Diver Course provides a unique underwater diving experience that will help you enjoy the diving experience and enhance your knowledge of the cool critters you often encounter while diving.

During this four-specialty program you’ll apply information you learn while reading the Shark, Turtle and Fish digital specialty manuals, gain a better sense of how to identify a large variety of animals, observe their characteristics and behaviors, and identify their many shapes, sizes and colors. You’ll leave with a greater appreciation of the fragility of the underwater world and more knowledge of sharks, turtles, fish, eels and rays than you thought possible. The combination of two amazing diving environments at the aquarium and exceptional SSI training materials equates to an extraordinary diving experience.
