THE BLUE HOLE IN NEW MEXICO HOW DO YOU GET THERE?
WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU GET THERE?We recommend that you check in to your hotel and, if it's a dive day, head over to the Blue Hole. Your A-1 crew often stays at the Adobe Best Western Inn. WHEN DO YOU DIVE?You will be doing two open water dives on Saturday and your final two on Sunday. From May through September we generally meet at the Blue Hole in the early afternoon on Saturday and from October through April we will generally meet at the Blue Hole early in the morning (your instructor will specify the time during your confirmation call). After a site orientation and dive briefing you will begin your first open water dive. After your dive the instructor will debrief and help you log the dive. He/she will then brief you on the second dive and away you go. Sunday morning's first dive generally begins bright and early (your instructor will let you know). After your final dive you'll fill out some paperwork, cheer on your fellow divers and be on your way home - a certified diver! We are usually done by late morning to early in the afternoon. WHAT OH WHAT SHOULD YOU WEAR?This depends on the time of year, however it is always a good idea to plan for all occasions. We recommend that in addition to your diving equipment you may want to bring two swimming suits, a beach towel, hat, gloves, coat, sweater, etc. Dining is very casual so you can leave your tuxedo or gown at home. WHEN TO PICK UP YOUR DIVING EQUIPMENT?You are welcome to come by the store and pick up your rental equipment (BCD, Regulator, Wet Suit, Wt. Belt, Weights, Dive Bag and Two Tanks) any time after noon on the preceding Thursday or after 10:00 am on the preceding Friday. Please return all of your equipment no later than the Monday after your certification dives----clean and dry PLEASE. Note: We do not provide mask, fins, snorkel, booties and fins for open water training dives. If available, these items can be rented. WHERE TO EAT?There are several restaurants in Santa Rosa that specialize in Mexican cuisine or you can choose from the traditional "fast food" restaurants. At A-1, we pride ourselves in exceeding our customer's expectations. It is our commitment to excellence that allows us to provide you with quality, great service, safety and enjoyment. We look forward to serving you and plan to do everything possible to make your open water weekend one that you will remember for a lifetime. Thank you and safe diving, Scott & Lynn TaylorOwners of A-1 Scuba and Travel Center
