Coral Reef Conservation Course Why take this course?The AWARE - Coral Reef Conservation Specialty course teaches divers, snorkelers and nondivers about the vital role of coral reefs in the marine environment. The course also familiarizes participants with the current state of the world's coral reefs and how they can help. What do I need to start?

Where can I go from here?You can use this course to complement your Peak Performance Buoyancy, AWARE - Fish Identification, Underwater Naturalist or Underwater Photography Specialty course. In addition, the AWARE - Coral Reef Conservation Specialty course counts as one of five Specialty course certifications required for the Master Scuba Diver certification. Course Dates May 31: 9 am to 12noon
About Your InstructorLeigh Vinzant grew up in Florida. She has Bachelor's degree in Biology and a Master's in Education. Currently, she is a science teacher at Cherry Creek High School. Leigh has been diving since 1998. Her personal diving has been in the rivers, lakes, springs and caves of Florida, and the reefs and wrecks off the Florida Keys. She also has made numerous Caribbean dives, as well as in the Pacific off the coasts California and Mexico. Leigh has enjoyed sharing her passion for diving with others since becoming a dive instructor in 2000. She believes that the world needs to be educated about the importance of preserving the aquatic environment and its resources for our future generations.
